More than a Century of Pharmaceutical Vocation
Our story began more than a hundred years ago in the pharmacy backroom of Don Santiago Capella Romero, my great-grandfather.
As a child, I was fascinated by watching his master formula books and the tools he used to prepare his compounds. That passion for pharmacy and health care inspired me to pursue a Degree in Pharmacy.
In that same land, his son, Santiago Capella Oriola, was born. He initially began a priestly career, though he eventually oriented his life toward teaching, specializing as a Professor of Latin and Greek at an academic institution in Almería. His career developed in the humanities, and references remain regarding his relationship with historical figures such as Emilio Castelar and Nicolás Salmerón Alonso, linked to the First Republic. He resided in Alhama de Almería, where he lived until his passing.
Today, that vocation remains alive, adapted to modern times but with the same lifelong values: knowledge, responsibility, and closeness.

Past and Present United
His son, Santiago Capella Romero, studied Pharmacy in Madrid. Despite having a pharmacy with Vivas-Pérez on the Paseo del Príncipe in Almería, he decided to practice in Alhama de Almería, moved by a deeply personal bond: his father rested there.
Don Santiago —as everyone knew him— was a very beloved and respected figure in the town. Local doctors trusted his work, and whenever they needed a master formula prepared with total precision, they entrusted it to him.
Between Spain and Mexico
Antonio Capella Bustos, the youngest of Santiago Capella Romero’s children, grew up in the family backroom observing how sachets, syrups, suppositories, and ointments were made, always following the Spanish Royal Pharmacopoeia.
He chose to study Medicine and practiced at the Jiménez Díaz Foundation (Madrid). Later, he moved to Mexico, where he served as Director of the Spanish Sanatorium of Mexico and subsequently as Professor of Microbiology and Bacteriology at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
The Inspiration for the Current Veterinary Pharmacy
Don Santiago Capella Romero was my great-grandfather. As a child, I loved looking through the books in his old backroom, where the formulas he prepared and the equipment he used were detailed. It was he who inspired me to study for my Degree in Pharmacy.
I dedicate this memory to him.
